Didn’t you enjoy watching those phenomenal feats of the human body in so many venues – oh, my! Snowboarding, skiing, cross country skiing, ice skating, ice dancing, curling, speed skating – holding my breath at the end of every race – feeling for the winners and the losers. But mostly I feel awe at the discipline, fortitude, courage and tenacity these young people have invested for yea!rs in preparation for the one moment that will make the difference measured in hundredths of a second! I am always inspired by their modelling for me what it means to be totally dedicated to something – it challenges me to evaluate my dedication to my Someone! How about you? Only it’s not just for 4 or 8 or 16 years that we commit ourselves to a discipline of being Jesus’ disciple; it’s a lifetime. Lord, give me the same motivation they have for a gold medal; my reward is far more worthy of a life! Sr. Nancy
