Ocean wave blurred by motion; Hawaii Wall Art

Do you remember the first time you danced with the one you love?  The moment when you looked into each other’s eyes and realized that you would dance with this one for the rest of your life?

Do you remember what it felt like to dance with the one you love? Let me refresh your memory. The music plays on, but for you it has slipped into a distant room; hardly audible.  Time stops and you are now the only couple on the dance floor. You dance like one person, yet it feels like you are floating or maybe just standing still. No one is there but the two of you, and the only clear vision you have is the reflection of your true self in your lover’s eyes.

All this because for a moment, in the midst of dancing, you looked into the eyes of the one you love.

Life is a dance that catches us up in a spinning frenzy of joy and sadness, accomplishment and failure.  Yet we can dance through it all if we only look into the eyes of the one who truly loves us—always there, ever guiding our steps, and in whose eyes we can see the reflection of our true selves.

So dance, friends, and remember to…

“Turn your eyes upon Jesus,

Look full in his wonderful face,

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim

In the light of his glory and grace.”1

Happy Valentine’s Day…
