It does feel like Advent. The days are shorter but there has been some beautiful sun reflected on the bare landscape of this time of year. The days are colder too.

On Saturday at Evening Prayer we had the blessing of the Advent Wreathe. This will be our only decoration for the next weeks until the Christmas tree is up and lit for Christmas eve.

The Advent Hymns invite us into the mystery  as do the special antiphons of this season. At our Eucharist this morning, it seemed that we had a few more guests who are preparing for Christmas by joining us for prayer. What a blessing for them and for us!

The daily news also make us aware of the need for God’s saving presence in our lives. We continue to pray for all those whose lives have been impacted by the natural disasters of the last months as well as those who have been injured or died through violence.

Marantha, Come Lord Jesus! Come with your saving!
