As we begin this new year we find three of our sisters facing joint replacement surgeries within the next few weeks. We are grateful for the wonders of modern medicine that makes it possible to improve the quality of life of someone who is experiencing chronic pain. We are going to enter this period together as a community centered on their welfare and care, giving what is needed and also balancing that with taking care of ourselves. I’m sure God has special graces in store for us in this; I see it as a time to bring us closer together, and to experience our fragility as well as our strength. So hurray for God who is always in the process of “fixin’ us up”. Hopefully, we’re always open to whatever that means and requires. I sense this promises to be a very good year for each of us. How is God fixin’ you up? Sister Nancy
